This study focuses on the dimensional analysis of the hydrodynamics of mangrove root-like geometries and the effect of the mangrove patch porosity and flexural stiffness. A multivariable non-dimensional empirical correlation is proposed to obtain a universal curve that describes the effect of the variables stated previously in the patch hydrodynamics. It was found that this new dimensionless parameter could characterize the drag coefficient in terms of Reynolds number and porosity.
